DiscoDude: ---BEGIN SESSION---
DiscoDude: Session logging commenced
GM: (Pirrue)
It’s later that night - much later - as Pirrue still hasn’t gotten a wink of sleep. One can only wonder what the now-undead girl has tried.
GM: [Chapter 3: Crisis! [LONELY HEARTS CLUB] Attacks!]
GM: (Lightrunner)
Lightrunner isn’t getting any sleep, either, as he’s been busy finding the address he was supposedly sent to redirect the package to. Was this just miscommunication, a plot by Alphonse, or something even more sinister?
GM: (I’ve decided to do away with the turn order. If one of us wants the others to wait for our post, we should say so.)
Pirrue: growls to herself. She's got no idea how to handle this. There's so much about being postmortem she doesn't know about. Do undead necropossums even need to sleep? Presumably they don't need to eat or drink, but can they? She's going to be sooo pissed if she has to avoid her favorite soda brand from now on.
Pirrue: Finally she whips out her compact and sends the mystery man she met yesterday a message. "Hey. You awake?"
Lightrunner: He goes ahead and answers his compact, "Yup, I'm awake. What's up?"
Pirrue: "Can't sleep. Want payback. Where can we meet up?"
GM: As he hit ‘enter,’ Lightrunner finally arrived at the address; the Abbey Road Cinema, apparently. The place was boarded up and decrepit.
Lightrunner: "Meet me at Abbey Road Cinema." He paused, "Got some bussiness to do there."
Pirrue: "Wait for me if you can." She gets up out of bed and resolves to sneak out of the house and meet up with...Ink G, didn't he say his name was?
Lightrunner: "I will, not going anywhere."
GM: Cracking open her bedroom door, Pirrue could see her mother watching the news and smoking a cigarette. Her back was to the doors.
Pirrue: has to remind herself she can't possibly be feeling her heart rate increase. That's one advantage of being undead, maybe. All the same, everything feels a little...different now. Still, she trusts herself to be able to cross behind her and get to the door...
GM: And cross she did. Although... as she sidled her way down the open hall, she brushed by... a presence, though her senses were telling her that nothing was there.
Pirrue: shivers briefly.
GM: She had reached the front door now, but when she had her hand on the handle, it began; a faint plucking of a guitar, fingering out a slow, quiet melody from her parents’ room, whose door was ever so slightly ajar. Looking back at her mother, it’s apparent that she can’t hear it, likely due to her proximity to the TV. Pirrue didn’t remember there being any musical instruments in their apartment.
Pirrue: raises an eyebrow. Auditory hallucinations? She can't remember ever hearing that being part of the necropossum experience. She lets go of the front door handle and creeps back towards the door, trying to figure out what it is she's hearing.
Pirrue: (as an aside <@!Lightrunner> if you get bored waiting for Pirrue you can totally begin your own investigation XD)
GM: (Yeah, was about to suggest that. XD)
Lightrunner: [Yeah yeah, be he's gonna wait]
Pirrue: (just because she asked doesn't mean you have to XD)
GM: She’s at the door, and the plucking has turned to gentle strumming. While the tune is sweet, she couldn’t help but feel a malicious air to it as she pondered opening the door.
Pirrue: takes a peek.
GM: (“A malicious air.” Read; ゴゴゴゴゴゴゴゴ. XD)
Pirrue: (heh)
GM: She cracks open the door, and the song dies, leaving the apartment silent except for the news broadcaster in the main living space. Inside... Pirrue wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but there was this... orange-furred Commons Fox sitting in her parents’ bed, wearing nothing but a quartet of brass-buckle style earrings on one ear, and holding a large acoustic guitar. Looking around the bedroom, Pirrue couldn’t see any sign of her father.
“Why hello there~” he finally said.
Pirrue: "W...who are you?" she hisses in a voice low enough that her mother can't hear over the TV. "And what did you do with my dad?"
GM: “Name’s Pepper.” He licks his lips. “You could say that I was ’employed’ by someone. You’re the daughter, right? Your father is...” He puts the hand not holding the spine of his guitar to his mouth in thought. “Actually... why don’t you ask your mother about that?” He licks his lips again. There’s a crash from outside the room. Then it’s just the newscaster again. (ゴゴゴゴゴゴゴゴ)
GM: (Pirrue?)
Pirrue: races out of the room.
Pirrue: "Mom? MOM?!?"
GM: The chair her mother was watching the news from was thrown onto its back, and the Necropossum herself had vanished.
Pirrue: "...bastard." She turns back to face her parents' room and shouts: "What did you do to them? WHAT DID YOU DO?!?"
GM: When she turned around, Pepper was now between her and the front door, wearing a sheet wrapped around his waist. It was then that she felt that same presence in front of her; in fact, she could almost see something’s form shimmering and fading in next to the fox. It hurt to look at, like she needed to concentrate for it to come into focus.
GM: “Like I said, you can try asking your mom that. You’ll be seeing her soon enough for that.”
Pirrue: "Wh-what do you even mean?" Rage and bravado are starting to give way to fear, and Pirrue takes a step back. What is this guy?
GM: (Lightrunner)
The prawn was startled awake from his doldrums by a text alert on his compact.
GM: (Pirrue)
He glances at the figure, which was now coming into focus; a large, rotund, lupine figure, though it was unclear whether it was organic or robotic. The wrought iron doors on its front emblazoned with a card-suit heart didn’t help.
“Ah- You can see my [LONELY HEARTS CLUB]?” He points at it. “Interesting. I’m starting to see why the client shelled out for the ’Max Priority’ package on this one.”
GM: (Lightrunner)
After a second, a second alert ping rang out, then another.
Pirrue: (<@!Lightrunner>)
Lightrunner: (My net is down)
Pirrue: "What the hell. What the hell..." She keeps backing up. "WHAT IS THAT THING?!?"
Lightrunner: (And I am back)
Lightrunner: He looks at his compact to read the pings.
GM: PIRRUE TEDESCHI:
(11:20) HELP ME
(11:21) HELP
(11:21) HELP
GM: ping! ping! ping!
GM: (11:21) HELP
(11:21) HELP
(11:21) HELP
Lightrunner: He quickly calls Pirrue, "waiting for her to pick up."
GM: Pirrue’s compact rings.
Pirrue: (wait, when did Pirrue send those?)
GM: ( 😉 )
Pirrue: recognizes the number. As quickly as she dares, she answers and says: "there is a lunatic in my house come quickly" and hangs up. She's not going to take her eyes off this thing or risk getting distracted.
Lightrunner: He blinks as she hangs up, "...I don't even know your house! That's why I wanted to call you!"
Lightrunner: He sends a quick text, "Send address!"
Pirrue: taps a reply back.
GM: “Well shit, better wrap this up quick, then. [LONELY HEARTS CLUB]!” The doors on the spirit’s chest opened up to reveal snaking chains connected to iron manacles.
Lightrunner: [Address sent?]
Pirrue: (yes)
Pirrue: "This is crazy," Pirrue says, now moving backwards as fast as her legs and coordination will carry her. "You're not snapping me up in that...that thing!"
Lightrunner: Lightrunner summons Machine in the Ghost, and starts making his way towards Pirrue's house, jumping from building to building.
GM: “Oh yeah...?” Pepper’s expression changes to an ugly scowl. “And what are you going to do about it, girlie?! You may see my Stand, but it doesn’t look like ya have one of your own yet,” he and his ‘Stand’ lunge forward, “so tough shit!” The manacles shoot out at Pirrue’s wrists and ankles!
Lightrunner: [And badass entrance times? =w=]
GM: (Hey, even super-jumping travel takes time.)
Lightrunner: [Damn]
GM: (Also, side note for <@!Lightrunner>: You might want to think about what limitations your Stand actually has.)
Lightrunner: [Well any light destroy it.]
Lightrunner: [That's the big one.]
Lightrunner: [They're like Black Sabbath, they disappear in sunlight, shadows is fine, overcast is fine, anything above wrecks it.]
GM: (<@!Pirrue>: So is she caught, or is she still holding on?)
Pirrue: "Dammit dammit dammit dammit!"
Pirrue: grabs desperately at the chains, trying to rip them loose.
GM: And for a moment, while she was slipping closer to the Stand, she actually managed to get a tighter grip on the chains, or put some extra weight into her stance, or something, as it almost felt like two people were pulling against them instead of one.
“Shiiiiiit, I gotta finish this ASAP!” Pepper actually looks slightly worried as he redoubles his efforts, namely by picking up a nearby ashtray and throwing it at Pirrue!
Pirrue: has that same strange feeling again. It's something she's had ever since she woke up postmortem. She chalked it up to just the unfamiliar feeling of being dead, but...something pulses within her, all of a sudden. It started as a tingle the moment she placed her hands on the chains, and as the ashtray approaches...that feeling out of nowhere transmutes into something concrete.
Pirrue: A simple thought, unbidden:
Pirrue: "You've given me a weapon."
Pirrue: An arm made out of junk reaches out and grabs the flying piece of metal.
Pirrue: Pirrue can't see it, as it's still behind her, but Pepper can:
Pirrue: a humanoid figure, a creature made of scrap metal, towering over Pirrue, glowing headlight eyes in an upside-down face.
Pirrue: "...Let. Me. GO."
GM: As the Stand moved to catch the ashtray, Pirrue started slipping again.
GM: (Lightrunner)
Ink G can see Pirrue’s building come into view in the distance. (At least, he thinks that’s the building.)
Lightrunner: he sends another text, "Can you break a window or something? Start yelling? Almost there."
GM: (But can Pirrue receive it?)
Pirrue: "No. I'm not going with you." Pirrue ignores the notification and pulls harder. The figure behind her, responding to her will, disappears into the chains within her grip. There's a caophony of clanking noises - pieces of junk sticking out of the chains at intervals.
Lightrunner: [Well, didn't her stand text him?]
Lightrunner: [She sure as hell didn't send him six texts in a row.]
GM: (Not sure if it’s sophisticated enough to read things for her. At least, not yet.)
Lightrunner: He attempts to call Pirrue, and if it goes to speaker, he will start barking.
GM: (Also not sure if [SABOTAGE]’s power can affect other Stands.)
Pirrue: (oh, good point)
Pirrue: (ignore that last part then)
Lightrunner: [I just need Pirrue to go straight to voicemail and have it blurt out.]
Pirrue: The figure behind her, responding to her will, chucks the ashtray back at Pepper with lethal accuracy.
GM: Pirrue’s compact is ringing as the ashtray beans Pepper in the cheek. “NGH?!”
Pirrue: (can we say the ashtray ricochets off him and breaks a window? XD)
GM: (Yeah.)
Lightrunner: He hears a crash, and hangs up, finally seeing something. He dives down into the window to ready his stand as weapons.
GM: “Oh... Now you’ve done it, you little bitch!” Pepper is fully leaning into it, and his Stand has resumed pulling with all its might, going as far as to grab the chains itself.
Pirrue: continues pulling back with all her might!
Lightrunner: He looks at the chains, and looks at his weapons, He lets them roll before they formed into spikes, and rammed deep into the ceiling, attempting to lift both Pepper and Pirrue up.
GM: (Wait, what is he doing?)
Lightrunner: [Like, pinning the chains to the ceiling?]
GM: (Ah.)
Lightrunner: [You know, through a loop and make them stuck in]
GM: (Hm... How do we finish this out?)
GM: One last pull- Wait. Between the two, the chains snap.
“MRMF!” Blood spurts in his mouth and seeps between his teeth.
Pirrue: "Holy cow," Pirrue says, dropping the chains. "That...that was amazing." She looks up at Ink G: "What the hell did we just do?!?"
GM: “D-don’t ignore me!” [LONELY HEARTS CLUB] leaps up to attack the pair directly!
Pirrue: ( <@!Lightrunner> ?)
Lightrunner: [Sorry, was distracted.]
GM: (Aw, I was hoping Pirrue would be the one to finish him off; do her first “ORA.” :3)
GM: (Or whichever kind of cry she chooses.)
Lightrunner: He stares at the stand, "Now, fall." The two spikes from the ceiling now drop to stab the back of the stand, while Ink G. lets out another spike from under his wrist inside his coat.
Pirrue: (i think it's fine if Pirrue takes a back seat given her Stand only just now awoke)
Pirrue: (besides she got to bean the bastard and help rip his stand up XD)
GM: (Don’t think you’re getting out of that this easy. 😉 )
Pepper himself had moved past Ink G while he did this, suddenly spouting new spurts of blood from those corresponding parts.
“Ngh, No options left; I gotta take you with me through the windoooooooow!!!” He tries to grab Pirrue.
Pirrue: "Not on your life!" She remembers the [Satchel Full of Stuff] she always brings with her, and whips out...an exacto knife? Not the most intimidating weapon, but in the right hands - her hands - it can do some hurt...
Lightrunner: The spikes around the body of the stand started to form bundles of barbed wires, swirling around the stand now, and attempts to pull him back before he reaches Pirrue.
GM: (You really, really don’t want to ORA this guy, huh. XD)
Pirrue: (well, again, her focus is manipulating metal and machinery)
Lightrunner: [Machine in the Ghost can 'ora' but he'd need something to hold this guy heh]
Pirrue: (finishing him off that way is one thing, but in the heat of battle, unsure of her abilities?)
GM: (So; what does she do with the exacto? :3)
Pirrue: (jams it into one of his wounds >8D)
GM: “NGHAAA!” Pepper has Pirrue by the collar, but Pirrue has him in the shoulder! (Could [SABOTAGE] propel metal tools?)
Pirrue: (yes)
Pirrue: "Gh...go to hell!!!"
GM: A second hand belonging to the junk Stand joins hers, and propels the exacto knife into punching out the other end at his lower back, sticking itself in the wooden floor!
Pirrue: "...holy."
GM: “Agh... gurgle...” Finally, dragging his feet and stumbling backward, the Commons Fox finally passes out, falling onto his back on the hardwood floor!
GM: [LONELY HEARTS CLUB] shudders, before its doors fly open, ejecting Pirrue’s parents onto the floor as well before phasing out of existence!
Pirrue: "MOM! DAD!" She leaps past the fallen foe and checks on her parents.
Lightrunner: He looks at Pirrue and her parents, "Uh..." He looks around the house, lots of broken things. "You guys might need to buy some more things."
GM: The two ex-prisoners are out cold, or at the very least, out of it enough that they might as well be.
GM: [Doth 2nd, 11:40pm; Pepper Sargento (LONELY HEARTS CLUB) Is Retired]
GM: There’s some knocking and banging on the door.
GM: “Hello?! It’s your next-door neighbors! We heard a commotion?”
GM: (Might be <@!Lightrunner>’s cue to get out of there.)
Lightrunner: He looked at Pirrue, "Call me tomorrow, I'll be back." He goes ahead and jumps through the already broken window, and disappears into the dark below.
GM: (<@!Pirrue>?)
Pirrue: (sorry, was AFK)
Pirrue: "Dammit! Take me with you! I don't wanna have to explain this!"
Pirrue: peers out the window to try and spy him.
Lightrunner: A shadowy vissage appears behind Pirrue, and grabs her, tossing her down below and being caught by Lightrunner, "Well if you insist." He looked at her, and the three eyed stand stares at Pirrue. "I guess we can crash at my place until the dust settles, follow me."
Lightrunner: [Gotta love spooky stand]
Pirrue: "...thanks. And thanks for the backup. But...I got a silly question for you."
Lightrunner: He looks at her, "Yes?"
Lightrunner: [ <@!Pirrue> ? ]
Pirrue: "...What the hell are these things?"
Lightrunner: "Short version: They're you, and you control them. Long Version: ...Not now, my place." Ink G's stand stands at Pirrue once more before letting out a "Kreeaaaa..." and fading away with the sound of burning paper as it disappears.
Lightrunner: [And the Krea is supposed to sound like creaking, like opening a door very slowly creak.]
GM: (That seem like a good place to end it?)
Lightrunner: [I would think so.]
Pirrue: "...This is gonna take some getting used to."
Pirrue: (TBH I was hoping to end it after Pirrue's question XD)
Pirrue: ("What the hell are these things?" TO BE CONTINUED ==>)
Lightrunner: [Ah whoops]
GM: {A whole new world. New means to answer the looming mysteries...}
GM: [CHAPTER 3: Danger! [LONELY HEARTS CLUB] Attacks! - End]
