  1. You can manually choose which photos to upload in Original Quality and which to use Storage Saver, but Google Photos does not provide a direct setting to mix both automatically. Here’s how you can do it:
  2.
  3. 1. Select Quality Before Uploading (Manual Control)
  4. - In Google Photos settings, you choose either "Original Quality" or "Storage Saver" for all uploads.
  5. - To control it per photo, you would need to:
  6. 1. Temporarily switch to "Original Quality" in settings before uploading high-priority photos.
  7. 2. Switch back to "Storage Saver" for less important ones.
  8.
  9. 2. Use Google Drive for Full-Resolution Storage
  10. - Instead of relying on Google Photos compression, you can manually upload high-quality images to Google Drive instead. This keeps them untouched while letting you keep compressed versions in Photos.
  11.
  12. 3. Re-upload Specific Photos in Original Quality
  13. If you previously uploaded photos in Storage Saver and still have the originals:
  14. - Delete the compressed version from Google Photos.
  15. - Re-upload the original file after switching your backup settings to Original Quality.
  16.
  17. 4. Google One Storage Management (Recovering Photos)
  18. - If you originally uploaded a photo in Original Quality, but later changed to "Storage Saver," you may be able to upgrade it back using the Recover Storage option (if applicable).
