DiscoDude: ---BEGIN SESSION---
DiscoDude: Session logging commenced
DetectiveCaillou: It’s a new day now. Lightrunner is (I’m assuming) driving Pirrue to Electric Avenue for their planned meeting with Alphonse. Who else did they tell about the meeting?
Lightrunner: [Lightrunner]
DetectiveCaillou: (Right, whoop.)
Lightrunner: [You do know the log doesn't change if you edit it?]
DetectiveCaillou: (Oh.)
DetectiveCaillou: (Edit in post then.)
DetectiveCaillou: (Question still stands.)
Lightrunner: [First couple of things...Lightrunner doesn't own a car, and Lightrunner wouldn't tell anybody else.]
DetectiveCaillou: (I thought he had a bike?)
DetectiveCaillou: (And the question was to <@!Pirrue>, too.)
Lightrunner: [He probably doesn't even have a Motorcycle, I didn't even say anything in terms of transport.]
Pirrue: (Pirrue tells nobody. Jack and Mertyn might be useful allies, but she doesn't trust them enough not to screw things up. She does keep them both on speed-dial, though, just in case.)
DetectiveCaillou: (And no Miyavi, I take it?)
Lightrunner: [...What? No forms of transport, he doesn't own anything that is a vehicle, he's a criminal, he keeps his shit light.]
DetectiveCaillou: (Could have sworn he initially got Pirrue back to his apartment on something... Whatever, nix the “driving” part.)
Lightrunner: [He just walked there, it's there in the past logs.]
DetectiveCaillou: (Like I said, “I could have sworn,” past tense.)
DetectiveCaillou: (Anyways...)
Pirrue: (yeah, no Miyavi, either)
Lightrunner: Lightrunner looked at Pirrue, "So, since I can't be down there with you, do you want me to give you my stand?" He said, walking up before stopping, about to walk up to a garage complex. "My stand has no range, and I can't help you with the distance I'll be at, so it's either a yes or no."
DetectiveCaillou: (He’s not going with her?)
Lightrunner: [No? Alphonse told that he cannot be seen with him, you said that in the last session.]
Lightrunner: [Pirrue has to be there instead oh him because of it, doesn't mean he won't take a vantage point.]
DetectiveCaillou: (I was thinking Alphonse was going to be the one watching from a distance... But this works too.)
DetectiveCaillou: (It works better for what I was planning, in fact.)
DetectiveCaillou: (So I take it Pirrue is going to enter the Avenue proper?)
DetectiveCaillou: (<@!Pirrue>?)
Pirrue: "...Nah. You can keep your Stand. I'll make do with Sabotage." She grins confidently.
Pirrue: (yeah)
Lightrunner: He shrugs, "Suit yourself kid." He says before splitting off into the garage complex and getting to the second to last story to be on the lookout.
DetectiveCaillou: Electric Avenue has... a bit of a reputation. The moment Pirrue crosses the gated threshold into the neighborhood somehow coated in both ivy, graffiti, and neon all simultaneously, she can see several people wanting to sidle up to her to try and sell her something.
DetectiveCaillou: “Heyo, need a newspaper?” Nobody should be smoking as many cigarettes as this guy. He’s holding a bundle under his arm.
DetectiveCaillou: “Don’t listen to him. I got some charms I think you’d be interested interested in, though.” This Vanguard was morbidly obese, and dressed in drab silks.
DetectiveCaillou: And even more are approaching as she gets closer to the meeting place. Someone in the back calls out “I have crack!”
DetectiveCaillou: (Any reaction?)
Pirrue: grins. "Maybe later." And she takes off like a shot.
DetectiveCaillou: “Whoa there!” She runs into a big-looking wolf. “You should look where you’re going. I’ve got shades if you gots the dosh, if the sun’s too much in your eyes.” A crowd has basically formed around Pirrue. “I can find out if your boyfriend’s cheating.” “My papers knock that lung-cancer’s out of the water!” “I have purifying crystals.”
Pirrue: keeps running, avoiding the various merchants. Where IS this Alphonse guy? She doesn't have the time or the money to deal with all these jerks...
DetectiveCaillou: It’s like a labyrinth of people. People are practically shoving into you now. At its thickest, you feel a tug on your pants, and looking down, you see an adorable little cat doing the tugging. She has pink fur, white hair, and a basket of blue and orange flowers. She’s holding a blue one up to you. “U-um... Woud you wike a fwower? cough” Her other hand is open, as though expecting something. “Onwy one mewble.”
Lightrunner: Lightrunner just stares down and watches, turning away for a moment to pull out a cigarette. "Yup, this kid is going to get mugged." He shrugged, taking out a lighter and taking a puff. "Not like it is my fault the kid wanted to be dragged into this."
DetectiveCaillou: (So, does she buy the flower from the adorable kitten? :3)
DetectiveCaillou: (those eyes)
DetectiveCaillou: (<@!Pirrue>?)
Pirrue: "...Dammit," Pirrue sighs. "Here." She hands the girl a single coin, takes a flower, and gets ready to continue her mad dash from the various shopkeepers.
DetectiveCaillou: A lot of the merchants give exasperated sighs and back off. “Heh,” says the first newspaper salesman, “not that she doesn’t deserve it.” Some of them wave to the little kitten as she trots off, as they themselves start to drift back towards the entrance. Somewhere, someone shouts “I have crack!” The kitten turns around and seems to make a show to Pirrue of how to tie the flower to her shirt.
Pirrue: "C'mon, little girl, I don't really have time for this," Pirrue says, just a few years past "little girl"-hood herself.
Pirrue: But she lets the kitten do her thing anyway.
DetectiveCaillou: “O-oh, um... You want me to do it for you?” She reapproaches. “Hey,” says the silk-wearing charm salesman, “see me if you’re in the mood for a charm later. Tell your mother I say hi, Rosah!” He’s one of the last to leave. “Oh! Right, Mr. Bubbelwien!” She turns back to Pirrue. “So, uh... do you need help with that or not?”
Pirrue: "Y-yeah. I, uh. I've never done this before. Gears and screws are more my thing than...flowers."
DetectiveCaillou: Rosah giggles as she helps tie the blue flower around one of Pirrue’s overall straps. “There you are.” This new voice belongs to Alphonse. He too is wearing a blue flower. “I hope the locals didn’t give you too much trouble. Just buy the cheapest thing you can spy, and they’ll leave you alone once your first purchase has been secured. It’s some kind of superstition around here.”
Pirrue: "Well, it's a good thing I met this little friend here, then," Pirrue says, grinning. "So you wanted to meet face-to-face to clear up these...shenanigans, huh?"
DetectiveCaillou: “In a way. Come. I may be a don’s son, but even I can’t leave my table at an eatery abandoned for too long in good conscience.” He turns around. “I take it Lightrunner is watching from a distance?”
Pirrue: "Something like that, I figure."
Lightrunner: Lightrunner takes out his compact and sends Pirrue a text, "I see you meet Alphonse."
DetectiveCaillou: “It’s smart. Like I said; come.” He heads off, and so does Rosah, in her own direction.
Pirrue: follows without another word.
Lightrunner: He watches as Pirrue and Alphonse goes out of sight and he slinks down below view and summons his stand, acting as his camera while hiding in between the lights and constantly patrolling for anybody. All while he continues to smoke more cigarettes. "Why the hell am I so stressed about this? If I really wanted to, I can just move to some place else, get it together." He mumbled to himself while he burnt through his packs.
DetectiveCaillou: “Here we are,” says Alphonse, “Marionette’s Bistro,” he steps up onto the stone patio and plops himself down on the iron-mesh chair and gestures to the opposite chair, “best eatery on Electric Avenue, according to my sources. Got any preferences?”
Pirrue: "Spaghe-" She catches herself. "Ahem. Angel hair pasta with bolognese sauce." She sits down in a chair and props her feet up on the table, trying to look cool.
DetectiveCaillou: “Classy.” He cracks a smile that feels slightly too intimate. “O-of course, you have the goods?”
DetectiveCaillou: (I forget, what did Lightrunner agree to hand over?)
Lightrunner: [The phone of that one woman that was at the hospitalize.]
DetectiveCaillou: (Right, right.)
Pirrue: (what was her name?)
DetectiveCaillou: (Jude.)
Lightrunner: [Yea]
Pirrue: raises an eyebrow. "Sure, I got Julie's notepad right here," she says, patting a pocket.
DetectiveCaillou: “Jude’s phone. May I have it?” His eye twitches a little.
Pirrue: frowns. "What was her Stand Power." She quickly, casually texts Lightrunner: "What was Jude's Stand Power again?"
Pirrue: "Also Alphonse is acting really really weird."
Lightrunner: He looks at the phone, "Butterflies that can drain you of all of your memories, just give him the phone. Jude is in the hospital, just give it to him."
DetectiveCaillou: (The twitch was mild annoyance for getting several facts wrong, for all you know. XD)
Lightrunner: He adds, "He's also pissed because he was in a relationship with her I guess, and also because you and I fucked with three of his people, you think he won't be annoyed?"
Lightrunner: He pauses, "Just, hand it over, please." he sends and closes his compact and waits.
Pirrue: (He already acted weird before that 😉 )
Pirrue: "...Lightrunner says to hand it over." She sets it on the table and slides it across, giving Alphonse an "I don't trust you" look the entire time.
Pirrue: (for the record, getting the facts wrong was an impostor check)
DetectiveCaillou: crack
DetectiveCaillou: Alphonse’s head snaps upward and across the street, while he’s already on his feet and diving forward. “Get down!” What looks like a green cross between a bullet and a dart whizzes past Pirrue’s cheek by about an inch and slams into the phone, sprouting a violent bloom of green crystals.
Pirrue: "Aw crap!"
Pirrue: ducks and covers and looks around for the unseen sniper.
DetectiveCaillou: There’s a green glint near the top of the building across the street, but it’s hard to make out through the ivy; it’s not in a window. There’s another crack. “Move!!” Pirrue can feel Alphonse tackle her, and a similar projectile hits the pavement where they were, spraying pavement as the crystal bursts outward.
Pirrue: "Crap crap crap crap!"
Pirrue: (Is the table made of metal, perchance?)
DetectiveCaillou: (Yeah, and so are the chairs.)
Pirrue: slaps her hands on the base of the table. Sabotage manifests, and twists it into a shield.
DetectiveCaillou: For a moment, things are quiet. Alphonse doesn’t appear to have gotten off her, though. “Are you okay?” Nearby street goers are panicking right now.
Pirrue: "What about you? You're the one the sniper's aiming at, aren't you?"
DetectiveCaillou: “I can see someone wanting me dead, yes, but that bullet seemed closer to hitting you. Didn’t seem like a normal bullet, either.” He’s still on top of you.
Pirrue: "An enemy Stand." Pirrue mutters. "Be right back." She leaves the table-shield in place to protect Alphonse, and turns one of the chairs into a smaller, more portable shield to carry with her as she dashes off towards the sniper's nest.
Pirrue: As she runs she texts Lightrunner: "We're under attack from an enemy Stand. A sniper of some kind. They're on top of a nearby building. I'm on 'em right now!"
Pirrue: ( <@!Lightrunner> )
DetectiveCaillou: The green glint in the ivy on the side of the building appears to be gone.
Pirrue: blinks. "Wait a minute..."
Lightrunner: He looks at the text, and then bolts up towards the roof level of the garage complex and looks for anybody standing on the rooves, summoning his stand back to his body and have it tap at the screen within his cloak, turning the brightness down to the lowest. "Where."
Pirrue: looks around, trying to figure out where the sniper went.
Pirrue: texts back quickly: "Near Marionette's Bistro. I thought I saw the sniper, but...they're gone."
Pirrue: She squints suspiciously at the ivy. Could it be...?
DetectiveCaillou: From where she’s standing, she can tell that the ivy has been disturbed recently, but other than that, there’s nothing suspicious. Alphonse comes up behind you - uncomfortable close, in fact - while putting a compact into his pocket. “I just called for backup. We’ll need to meet them somewhere.”
Pirrue: "The crap? What are you doing? It's not safe! If the sniper is after you, you're a way bigger target than I am!"
DetectiveCaillou: “Oh, right, sorry.” He backs off and tries to avoid eye-contact. “I was thinking we should meet my boys at the entrance where you came from. That sound good?”
Pirrue: "...Fine. But keep an eye out for anything suspicious. The sniper could be anywhere..."
DetectiveCaillou: People seem to give the pair a wide berth, what with the makeshift shield, but after a little walking and another text written by Alphonse, the two eventually reach the entrance, where some of Alphonse’s men seem to be waiting. Lightrunner can see the two groups approaching each other.
DetectiveCaillou: crack
DetectiveCaillou: A bullet dart flies at the ground at Pirrue’s feet!
DetectiveCaillou: Lightrunner can see a green glint of light on the side of the building opposite him.
Pirrue: whirls around, looking for any sign of the sniper. "Do you see him? Do you see him?!?"
DetectiveCaillou: Pirrue can feel a sting as the ensuing crystal rupture punctures her left leg.
DetectiveCaillou: “Are you okay?!” Alphonse and his men both run up from opposite directions.
Pirrue: "Dammit!"
Pirrue: winces and staggers.
Pirrue: "Definitely a Stand..."
DetectiveCaillou: (<@!Lightrunner>?)
Lightrunner: [Ah, sorry, I've been really sleepy and out of it, today has been sorta long.]
DetectiveCaillou: (Getting late?)
Lightrunner: [Yea, a lil.]
Lightrunner: [Can we end it here for now?]
DetectiveCaillou: (Sure.)
DetectiveCaillou: !end
