- Here are a few steps you can try to resolve it:
- Restart File Explorer: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, find Windows Explorer in the list, right-click it, and select Restart.
- Clear File Explorer History: Go to File Explorer Options (search for it in the taskbar), click on the General tab, and click Clear next to Clear file explorer history. Uncheck Show recently used files in Quick access and Show frequently used folders in Quick access, then click Apply and OK.
- Delete AutomaticDestinations Files: Open File Explorer and paste %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations in the address bar, then delete all files in that folder.
- Rebuild Search Index: Go to Indexing Options (search for it in the taskbar), click Advanced, and then click Rebuild.
- Optimize Folder for General Items: Right-click the problematic folder, select Properties, go to the Customize tab, choose General items, and check Also apply this template to all subfolders.
- Check for Updates: Ensure your Windows is up to date with the latest patches and updates.
