Tramping through the jungle, knocking aside trees that clumped too close together to permit passage, the towering creature disturbed all that he passed. Hyenas howled and slunk away. Roosting bats launched themselves into the sky, as did nesting birds. Even the droning insects made way before him.
The earth shook with his impressive tread. Tree branches trembled in anticipation of his approach. Vegetation lying in his wake was mercilessly crushed and mangled.
At length, Kong burst out of the rain forest and into open grassland. The savanna stretched for countless miles inland. This unexpected sight produced in the shambling behemoth a low grunt of surprise.
