Without replying, he held his broken wrist, defiant. Suddenly Stea'Pua pointed to the sky.

"Watch out. Here they come!"

Three Xenowings came from the top of a tall tree, diving as though they were in attack formation. The young bloods scattered, each wielding a combistick, the blades pointed skyward. One of the creatures landed on Ca'toll's back. The other two dove for Ar'Wen, but he leapt away, scooped up his electrified combistick, and whirled back swinging. As it connected with each of the Xenos, they
