Undeterred, Kong strode forward. A slow-moving croc, unable to reach the water in time, turned and brought about his great sweeping tail to slam it into one of Kong’s hairy ankles.
The blow was substantial, but Kong was greater still.
Reaching down, the beast-god caught the thing by the head, clipping the long jaws shut, then seized the croc by the tail with his other hand. Holding the reptile horizontally, the great ape pulled in opposite directions. The long neck strained, elongating away from the body while the tail stayed in place. The latter was much more firmly rooted.
