- Crawling backward on the sand, her hand brushed across what felt like a shaft and she pulled a spear from the dune. Her years of training in small ops had included using all types of blades and muscle memory guided her hands. As the creature flew toward her, whipping its tail, with an upward sweep the spearhead sliced through its body. A spray of acid hit the sand.
