- The Luminary's Lament
- In days beyond recollection, there dwelt among the Xenoids a harmony, a balance known, a binding born of mutual recognition and deference. A civilization of diverse roles, myriad burdens, yet centered upon a singular figure of veneration: the Luminary. Not a ruler, this Luminary, nor a sovereign, but a light that shone, a beacon of perspicacity and insight that guided; the Luminary, who mediated dissonance and ensured the symbiosis of the Guardians and the Artisans.
- The Luminary, a revered figure among their kind, was exalted for their ability to perceive the grand tapestry, the intricate dance of the Source, its hushed potency, its boundlessness. They taught the Xenoids to harness the Source for the collective weal, striking a balance twixt the needs of the now and the sanctity of the morrow.
- Then, the Calamity, the sundering, the rending of the Luminary's wisdom, and with it, the very fabric of their society. In that dark void left by the Luminary, the Guardians, gripped by trepidation and desperation, sought to fill the chasm of their loss, aspiring to the mantle of Overseers.
- And so, the Overseers, anointed, wielded power with a heavy hand, their gaze turned inward, focused only on the present, the survival of the immediate, and forsaking the past and the future, the culture and the values. Thus, they lost sight of the Luminary's teachings, the Source, and the Xenite crystals, no longer sanctified gifts but tools for control, for oppression.
- The Artisans, once the shapers of dreams, the weavers of innovation, cast into the mines, made to harvest that which was the very heart of their society, the Xenite, the Source embodied. And so, the balance the Luminary had tended, like a delicate garden, fractured, replaced by an order cold and unyielding.
- It is the lament of the Luminary that echoes through the ages, a dirge for the harmony that once was. A tale of the wandering of a people, led astray by the absence of guiding light. A reminder, etched in the songs of their descendants, of the importance of wisdom and understanding in leadership, and the destructive potential of power left unchecked.
- A warning, a call to remember the teachings of the Luminary: that power must always serve the people, that balance is key, and that the Source is not a tool, but a gift to be cherished. A gift that, in forgetting, may yet be the undoing of all.
