Speaking to a police officer after my home was burglarized, he said that if I am home and someone breaks into your home, kill them. I asked if I had a gun, shouldn't I just hold them at gunpoint until the police arrive? He said no. There are so many unknowns in that situation, he said to end it as quick as possible. Once someone crosses the threshold of entering a home by force, they are there to do harm to you, your family, and your property. Don't talk, don't yell, don't warn them, kill them. He said there is no bravado, fanfare, or glory in defending your home and family. End the person so they won't harm anyone ever again.
