- If you're unconnectable due to CGNAT (Carrier-Grade NAT), your options are more limited because your ISP is assigning you a shared public IP address, making it impossible to open ports directly. However, you still have some workarounds:
- 1. Use a VPN with Port Forwarding (Best Option)
- - Some VPN providers offer port forwarding, which lets you receive incoming connections even behind CGNAT.
- - Recommended VPNs with port forwarding:
- - AirVPN
- - Mullvad
- - PIA (Private Internet Access) (only certain servers)
- - In your torrent client, configure it to use the forwarded port from the VPN.
- 2. Use a Seedbox
- - A seedbox is a remote server that downloads torrents for you and allows you to transfer files via FTP or WebDAV.
- - Since seedboxes have public IPs, they are always connectable.
- - Downside: Costs money, but great for private trackers.
- 3. Request a Public IP from Your ISP
- - Some ISPs allow you to opt out of CGNAT and get a public IPv4 address (sometimes for free, sometimes for a small fee).
- - Call your ISP and ask if they offer this option.
- 4. Switch to IPv6 Torrents
- - If your tracker and peers support IPv6, and your ISP provides you with an IPv6 address, you can be connectable that way.
- - Enable IPv6 support in your torrent client and test if you can receive incoming connections.
- 5. Change ISP or Use a 4G/5G Router with a Public IP
- - If your ISP doesn't offer public IPs, switching to another provider may be the only option.
- - Some mobile ISPs offer public IPs with premium plans.

- TL;DR - Best Solutions Ranked
- 1. VPN with port forwarding (best balance of cost & effectiveness)
- 2. Seedbox (if you want an easy, premium solution)
- 3. Request a public IP from ISP (free or small fee if available)
- 4. Use IPv6 torrents (only if your ISP supports it)
- 5. Change ISP (last resort)
