  1. The Fiend tried to twist away but was not fast enough.

  3. The turbulent, buffeting air caused by my approach sent sparks from the fire whirling up into the sky. I felt a moment of ecstasy as my talons pierced his thick hide and gouged deep into the flesh of his back. He screamed as I bore him aloft.

  5. I didn’t soar upwards in a long spiral. My dark wings beat powerfully and I rose vertically, still gripping my prey. The Fiend was screaming, writhing and twisting, struggling to be free, but I held him fast, my talons biting even deeper.

  7. This was what I was here on earth to do. My whole life had pointed towards this moment. Thousands of monks prayed daily against the power of the Devil and the forces of darkness. But I could do better than that!

  9. This was my prayer! I was about to tear him to pieces and let him fall from the sky like shredded leaves. But as I gripped evil in my talons, I suddenly knew exactly what to do.

  11. I hovered perhaps thirty or forty feet above the church. Then I dropped the Fiend towards the pointy spire. He screamed again as his belly was pierced by its sharp point which immediately emerged from his hairy back.

  13. Impaled and writhing in agony, the Fiend began to slide down, spraying droplets of dark blood onto the roof of the church.
