  1. My current situation for broadcasting: VLC -> Renderer (ChromeCast 2) -> ChannelMaster CM-1050 ATSC Modulator -> the television sets in my house on UHF 14.
  2.
  3.
  4. Is there a way to have VLC both render on a chromecast, and stream to an icecast server or twitch server? If i have to recieve it via WinTV and broadcast that window via OpenBroadcast studio, i'm fine with that too.

  6. I was hoping the situation would be something like VLC -> icecast server, or VLC -> Chromecast -> WinTV -> OBS -> whatever video server program can serve it to viewers either via VLC or a web browser... something like cytube would be great, but as i understand it, that thing's just a glorified "Watch2Gether"...

  9. Not right now, but definitely in the future:
  10. I need a way to send MPEG-5/HEVC video, since the Chromecast 2 can only handle up to MPEG-4/AVC and downconvert that to MPEG-2 video (it gives a black screen with audio if i try to render HEVC media on it). chromecast ultra might do this... otherwise, i may have to just export video via an HDMI transmitter-reciever pair.

  12. However, this may all be rendered moot once i get a Synology DiskStation 418, which has built-in hardware transcodingn capabilities.
